Football fans in Miami have had a lot to cheer and cry about. Down south in Coral Gables the University of Miami Hurricanes Football team has been the talk of the town. From a famous turnover chain mural in Wynwood to UM gear flying off store shelves the spirit of the U has painted the 305 in green and orange spirit.
Then on the other hand you have the lethargic and dramatic Dolphins the lone soldiers of Hard Rock stadium. On Saturday December the Canes took on Clemson in the much anticipated ACC championship game in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Canes came into Charlotte with impressive 10-2 record as the faced a 12-1 Clemson team. College football fans packed businesses all over SoFlo to watch the game a that unfortunately was not as expected. The Canes would lose the ACC championship 38-3 and now look ahead to their December 30th matchup against Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl.
Following the cane catastrophe football fans woke up Sunday to watch the Dolphins host the Broncos in hopes that a 5 game losing streak would meet its end at home. For the first time in a while Fin fans got an early Christmas miracle two simple words “winning football”. The Dolphins pounded the Broncos 35-9 and football fans in Miami had something new to cheer about. As for this tale of two teams well the journey continues.
For Fin fans New England comes to town today and for Cane fans the University of Wisconsin badgers come to Miami for the Capitol one Orange Bowl. Two games that will surely be the roar of the rock!
