Art Fever Takes Over Miami Condos

Love coming home to world-class art? Then ditch the art gallery and buy a condo instead! No, we’re not talking about the cheap, poster copy of Monet’s Water Lilies or Warhol’s Monroe kind of art. It’s the serious, custom-made, ​Art Basel​kind of art. The kind of art that makes it to most people’s wishlist. These high-end condos have already welcomed such art into their backyard (a.k.a. garden, lobby, social room).

New buyers got to consult internationally acclaimed ​Helidon Xhixha​on original works for each of their residences. The Albanian born artist is best known for crafting three-dimensional sculptures that reflect natural light. In addition, Muse will also feature an art gallery in its breakfast room.

Three, color-changing resin sculptures, sitting atop 35-foot poles, are the focal point of the two-acre park in this three-tower complex. The work titled ‘The Poets in Bordeaux’ is crafted by Spanish artist ​Jaume Plensa​, who has also exhibited at the Richard Gray Gallery. Additionally,

 Park Grove residents will get to store their own art in the complimentary climate-controlled storage facility and have access to an “art club” curated by a full-time art specialist.

Paraiso District

480 NE 31 St. – 501 NE 31 St. – 701 NE 31 St. – 650 NE 32 St., Edgewater

The plaza and gardens at this quadruple condo complex in ​Edgewater​will flaunt sculptures by Pablo Atchugarry​. The Uruguayan sculptor is best known for abstract works. Gran Paraiso’s residents will further get to enjoy a curated collection from the likes of ​figurative artist ​Alex Katz​, photographer ​Vik Muniz​, ​minimalist artist ​Frank Stella​and sculptor ​David Hayes​.

Eleven in the Roads

529 SW 11th Street, Brickell

 Renowned sculptor ​Steinunn Thorarinsdottir​has been commissioned to create original installations for common areas in this boutique project. The Icelandic artist is best known for crafting life-sized, androgynous human figures.

 

Brickell Flatiron

1000 SE 1st Avenue, Brickell

 Large-scale pieces by painter and filmmaker ​Julian Schnabel​will be adorning the public areas at ​Brickell Flatiron​. The American artist had already designed the building’s sales center and is best known for his “plate paintings” made from broken plates and pottery.

 

SLS Lux Brickell

 801 South Miami Avenue, Brickell

 Enjoy a monumental bronze sculpture by Colombian artist ​Fernando Botero​sitting in front of the SLS Lux luxury condo-hotel and residences combo. Contemporary painter, ​Fabian Burgos​’s 40,000 square-foot mural comes splashed across the exterior. And, Venezuelan lighting artist ​Ana Isabel Martinez​has crafted a one-of-its-kind interactive exhibit for this luxury development.

 

SLS Hotel & Residences

 1300 South Miami Avenue, Brickell

 If you’ve been around Brickell, then you’ve probably seen ​Markus Linnenbrink​’s famous ‘drip painting’ façade on this condo-hotel. Just inside is a ceiling video installation by Swiss artist Katya Loher​, tilted “when will the sea swallow the land?”. Also, the artful lobby features “The Man of Light” by Spanish sculptor ​Bernardi Roig​.

 

Oceana Bal Harbour

 10201 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour

 Dreams of owning a ​Jeff Koons​come true here. The oceanfront ​Oceana Bal Harbour​features two of his masterpieces: “Pluto and Proserpina” and “Seated Ballerina”. The lobby also flaunts ten other museum-quality works from artists like ​Juan Usle​, ​Callum Innes​, ​Garth Weiser​, ​An Te Liu​, and ​Taryn Simon​.

 

Hyde Resort & Residences,

 4111 South Ocean Drive, Hollywood Beach

 Visitors are greeted by a ​Rafael Domenech​floating installation in the lobby of this resort-residence. The Cuban artist put together rings in shades of yellow and orange to create a stunning welcome.

Contemporary painter, ​José Bedia​’s ornamental pieces come strewn across the Zen garden in this South Beach gem. The mid-rise also showcases commissioned works from Argentinean visual artist ​Pablo Siquier​along with a curated art collection in its common areas.

 

Icon Bay

 460 NE 28th Street, Edgewater

 The sculpture park at this waterfront building comes flooded with art from previous members of the National YoungArts Foundation. It has also featured works by ​Carolina Sardi​, ​Eugenio Cuttica​and ​Lautaro Cuttica​.

 

The Ritz-Carlton One Bal Harbour

 10295 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour

 This condo-hotel flaunts some of the most expensive works of art. Visitors are welcomed by an Ed Moses​oil painting in the lobby.

 The outdoor deck showcases a 37ft. bronze sculpture by Guy Dill​. And then, there are the ceramic sculptures by Japanese artist ​Mineo Mizuno​and gold-leaf sculptures by ​Otto Rigan​standing by the elevator lobbies.

Though not out with a final list of artists, common spaces at the Estates at Acqualina, One River Point, Hyde Beach House and 250 Wynwood will also come decked with permanent installations of curated art.
