Ron Barceló serves up style and glamour with its multi-faceted presentation of Chasing Rubi at Kimpton Epic Hotel on Thursday, October 12th. Inspired by Latin Casanova Porfiro Rubirosa, the famed Dominican Diplomat said to be the real-life inspiration for James Bond, Barceló hosts a luxurious bash with 50’s elegance in homage of the fashion icon’s debonaire lifestyle, which many still aspire to today.
The evening begins at 7pm with a lavish Ron Barceló cocktail reception at Lilt featuring cigar stations and a live date auction where lucky ladies will bid on the opportunity to enjoy dinners with eligible bachelors considered modern day Rubirosas. Proceeds from this auction and other luxury items will support the important work of CASA VALENTINA, especially during hurricane season. Casa Valentina is a 501(c3) organization that provides affordable housing, comprehensive wraparound services and transitioning program for foster youth in Miami, Florida.
The Grand Ballroom will open its doors at 8pm, to showcase coveted items and experiences by top hospitality, fashion and luxury brands, followed by an award presentation to CASA VALENTINA for its contribution to the community.
The evening will conclude with a cinematic fashion show – a multi-media, multi-sensory experience featuring styles by high-fashion New Yorker Lucia Rodriguez and couture designs by Fernando Wong, among others and re-enactments of different historic moments of Rubirosa’s life, including his affinity for polo, cars, travel, fortune, style and women in power.
Notables guests expected to attend Narcos actor Manolo Cardona, Colombian soap opera star Harry Geithner, Univision vice president Mauro Castillejos and Dueños del Paraíso telenovela actor Adrian Mas.
The celebration continues at a VIP after party with Ron Barceló cocktails and entertainment by international salsa recording star, Willie Panama.
Tickets for the event are available at $55.
