As part of The Yard’s commitment to our shared Earth, modeling sustainability and increasing its green efforts, The Yard has raised funds to expand its urban organic garden run by Little River Cooperative. The Yard has also considerably reduced the use of plastic straws, introduced a reusable cup program and hosts frequent monthly community clean-up events with local organizations such as Debris Free Oceans and Surfrider Foundation. You too can become a part of the solution! Learn how you can get involved by visiting the on-site panel on advocacy from 1p.m. to 2 p.m. while you’re at The Yard on Earth Day.

In addition, make your mark towards a greener Earth by bringing #5 plastics to be recycled by Whole Foods Market and made into toothbrushes sold at their stores! The Full Edit helps you with your spring cleaning by collecting your gently-used clothing and while you are at it, peruse the grounds for sustainable clothing you’ll feel brand new in from Respect the Fin. Allapattah Candle Co. will collect your used (but clean, please!) jars to recycle into new aromatic candle holders that will be available for purchase at The Yard’s Little River Garden Box.

Jackson Hall, the nation’s first wellness-focused food hall opening in Miami on April 17th and brought to you by the team behind The Wynwood Yard, will collect books to grow their “swap section” at our Positivity Library at Jackson Hall. A collaboration with Books & Books, this is a library created for guests of all ages, filled with books that make you laugh, lift your spirits, transform your mindset, and motivate wellness and positive thinking.

Stop by the Bar at The Yard for $6 beers from 12-6. Concrete Beach, Saltwater Brewing, and South Beach Brewing will all be available at a special Earth Day price, with a portion of the proceeds going back to involved organizations, Surfrider, Debris Free Oceans, and VolunteerCleanUp.org. In our efforts to reduce waste, we will also have wine on tap, also available for $6 on Earth Day.

While The Wynwood Yard’s official Earth Day festivities wind down at 4 p.m., you can carry on with a collaborative community cleanup event starting at 4:30 p.m. in partnership with Surfrider Foundation Miami Chapter and Debris Free Ocean. This special Earth Day edition of The Yard’s monthly cleanup marries sustainability concepts The Yard is passionate about: community coming together for the greater good to reduce our carbon footprint, sourcing locally, composting, minimizing single-use plastics and picking up the trash trail that eventually makes its way from city centers, harming marine life and water quality.   Get your tickets for our special Earth Day edition community clean up. https://bit.ly/2v1abgu. Afterward, join Green Drinks to engage in a discussion about climate change at 7 p.m. under the della bowls tent.
