Is Pink the New Black? Plus More Predictions from #MIAFW

Sunny Miami has always been a city recognized for it’s international fashion trendsetters and tastemakers. The magic city has officially gained the title of the second largest fashion week in the United States. The CDFA also has officially recognized Miami Fashion Week on it’s calendar.

Who’s in and Who’s out?

Fashion Show

The week will showcase eight 2018 resort collections from international designers and the runway shows will be held at Ice Palace Film Studios. The collections featured will include Silvia Tcherassi a Miami based designer who is the first Latina to ever be invited to participate at Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. She describes her philosophy of style as delicate and eclectic while harnessing the strength of a rockstar. Some of the current trends for summer include high sleeve slits ,cinched sleeves and transparency. It will interesting to see if she will feature these trends separately or have a combination. Transparency and slits definitely scream rockstar.

Rest and Relaxation Vibes

Another notable designer who will showcase their collection is Custo Barcelona. Inspired by the relaxed nature of Southern California this Spanish fashion house has covered everything from swimwear to suits. They are often known for their signature use of bright and wild colors with psychedelic prints. Also this summer bright pink ,paisley, gingham, floral, and yep you guessed it glitter are all trends. We will see if the Spanish fashion house will get down with gingham, glow with glitter, or show flare with florals.

Another notable addition to Miami Fashion Week is Antonio Banderas. Antonio Banderas will be serving honorary president of Miami Fashion Week for his second term this year. During the commencement of the week he will also be hosting a charity gala that will support Miami Children’s Health Foundation and his own personal charity Fundación Lágrimas y Favores.
