Call it a comeback! Surfside, Miami’s Uptown Beachtown, marks the 10-year return of its popular Third Thursdays block party with new event themes and exciting festivities, starting January 18, 2018. At January’s celebration, locals are encouraged to ride their bikes to Harding and 95th Street to enjoy live music by popular blues, soul and rock & roll band, Brothers of Others, in addition to interactive activities for kiddos such as a floral workshop by florist, Zoom Bloomz and Metal Monkey Workshop empowering kids to make crafts using basic tools.
The monthly block party offers families and friends a laid-back setting to experience the Surfside lifestyle, while also enjoying live music, food trucks with delicious fare available for purchase, sweet treats courtesy of Serendipity Creamery, premium sangria and mimosa cocktails by Miami Cocktail Company for those who are 21 and over,as well as wellness exercises. Even four-legged furry friends are encouraged to attend!
January 18, Surfside Ride: The mile-long Town of Surfside is known for being pedestrian and bike-friendly. During the kick-off event, all are welcome to bring a bike, skate or scooter and enter into a competition to win prizes.
February 15, Get Sporty: Guests can rock their favorite sporty attire from the 1980s until today. All ages are invited to break a sweat while they partake in aerobics and fitness activities.
March 15, Pet Night: Show off a favorite furry friend to the town. There will be an animal shelter organization onsite with adoptable pets, as well as pet contests with prizes.
April 19, Throwback Thursday: Celebrate Surfside’s history and dress up as your favorite decade. Entertainment will focus on showcasing music from throughout the years with a costume contest and prizes.
