Las Vegas hired 5 international artists to create virtual reality experiences of their time spent in the city of neon lights. In this in-depth interview with Cathy Tull (VP) from the LVCVA host Osmany Caballero goes into what it took to make this ‘virtual’ experience a reality!
They began with a long list of artists and then picked 5 great ones! The artists then went to Vegas and worked on their projects since March. There will be an app in the future for anyone to have access to see the virtual reality art! Their next step is to take it worldwide and we can’t wait for it to expand.
An artist named James Whitenoise joined us! He was one of the 5 artists that got selected. He’s been drawing and designing since 1981. James’ next step is to work on something bigger and installation based. He shared an interesting story on how his brand “Signalnoise” came from a novel he likes and he read it and it stuck with him.
On the last interview, 2 artists joined us, Beetle and Batista. In the past, Beetle has done a lot of 3D work and cool visuals. His art is also colorful so it was easy to say that he was a right fit! Beetle wants to recreate the feeling of walking in Vegas and seeing the beauty in it.
Batista is from Brazil and it was his first time in Miami! His work is colorful and energetic so it carries positive emotions. It also has diversity just like Vegas. It was a dream come true for him to be selected! When he goes back to LA, he will keep making art and grow as an artist.
