SoBe Promos, a distributor of custom promotional products, was recognized by Counselor Magazine as this year’s fastest growing distributor, with a year to date growth of 48%. “We get so much of our business from word-of-mouth referrals because of the level of our service,” says Spencer Kramer, CEO of SoBe Promos. The three young men at the helm of SoBe Promos joined forces as undergraduates at the University of Miami. Spencer Kramer and CFO, Scott Latimer, already had invaluable experience in the industry working with Spencer’s father, Jeff Kramer. Jeff was the owner of Bullet Line, one of the largest promotional product suppliers in the world at the time of sale, and the person responsible for bringing a three-day turnaround to the industry, eliminating the standard four-week wait time for order fulfillment. The men’s longtime relationships with overseas factories are the reason SoBe Promos is able to do customizable items. When a product is out of stock at North American suppliers, the team has contacts at a factory in China that sends products to them directly.
“Spencer’s contacts and experience growing up watching his father do it and traveling with him to Asia is an unbelievable competitive advantage for us,” says Chris Ferriter, Vice President of Business Development at SoBe Promos. The three millennial men are pushing the business forward with the times, communicating with clients over social media and through text messages. “We’re not interested in doing things the way they’ve always been done in the industry – we’ve figured out some ways that work better for us and our clients,” says Ferriter. SoBe Promos had over 1,000% sales growth from 2013-2016 and were ranked on Inc. Magazine’s list of 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2016. Out of 23,000 promotional product distributors in the U.S. and Canada, SoBe Promos is the fastest growing distributor this year.
