Maroon Poetry Festival

Join us for a full day of festivities as we honor the elder poets of the Black Arts Movement who paved the way for our self-determination and creative excellence. Poems are intentional words and vibes. Join us as we listen to local musicians, DJ’s, and poets that will open up for the legendary Last Poets, Sonia Sanchez, and Ntozake Shange. Listen to Emory Douglas of the Black Panther Party discuss the role of art and culture in our movements for change and freedom.
